API TransFusion is organized by an intergenerational group of Asian and Pacific Islander transmasculine individuals. Some of us have been connected and dedicated to the community for years, some for decades. We are an all-volunteer operation, by and for the community we serve.

Willy Chang Wilkinson

Willy Chang Wilkinson, MPH is an award-winning author, public health consultant, cultural competency trainer, and public speaker who has been advocating for marginalized populations since the early days of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. He is the author of the Lambda Literary Award-winning book Born on the Edge of Race and Gender: A Voice for Cultural Competency, which illuminates trans experience from a Chinese American and mixed heritage perspective. As a response to the global mental health crisis among trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people, Willy penned Gender Splendor: 50 Creative Sparks to Celebrate Yourself at All Ages and Stages. He launched the first trans healthcare access program in the nation and the first program for trans men who have sex with other men, organized the first support groups for transmasculine people of color, and co-organized the first API transmasculine retreat.

Chino Lee Chung

Chino Lee Chung is a queer and trans Chinese Mexican writer and grassroots activist. He has lived in San Francisco and Oakland since 1988 and has been organizing in the API and Latinx queer communities for over thirty years. He’s a lifetime learner, holds an MFA from California College of Arts, and is finishing up an MA from San Francisco State University. Chino is working on a collection of personal essays and was recently awarded the Steinbeck Fellowship from San Jose State. He is a retired San Francisco Firefighter.

Bobby C.

Bobby C. is an immigrant from Hong Kong, He also grew up in San Francisco and started transitioning from female to male when he was 19 years old. Bobby is a former titleholder, Mr. Transgender San Francisco 2004 (TGSF), and a former gallery curator of an annual transgender visual art gallery. Bobby used to perform on stages as a trans adult entertainer for the queer community in his 20s and sang as a 2nd tenor as part of the GAPA Men's Chorus. He has been a web designer for several LGBT+ Nonprofit organizations and a longtime volunteer for APIQWTC (Asian Pacific Islander Queer Women and Transgender Community). Bobby is a Design Program Manager / Creative Producer and an entrepreneur and spends his free time shooting photos at community events, making visual art, and writing poetry.

Kai Nham

As a queer and trans Chinese-Vietnamese son of a refugee from Việt Nam and an immigrant from Hong Kong, Kai Nham (he/they) is deeply interested and committed to how our communities can imagine and build new worlds for ourselves. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate at UCLA's Department of Information Studies. His current research interests include how information infrastructures help build and maintain trans of color care webs, as well as the development of grassroots and community-based interventions and technologies to resist violence and build new futures. Outside of his academic life, Kai enjoys writing poetry, spending time with his family and friends, watching women's basketball, and organizing with and for his communities.
